A useful corporate DJ brief connects the music to the run sheet, audience and brand. Send the brief early enough for the agency to check the right experience, availability, travel and production.
Build the event brief
Event purpose
State whether it is a gala dinner, launch, awards night, cocktail party, conference or company celebration.
Audience
Include guest count, age range, internal or public audience, industry and any cultural considerations.
Music policy
Specify clean or brand-safe requirements, restricted genres, preferred energy and examples of the desired sound.
Run sheet
Mark arrival, dining, speeches, awards, sponsor moments, networking and the point when the DJ should lift the room.
DJ role
Clarify whether the DJ is providing music only or whether additional presenting experience is requested. Best DJ Hire does not sell a standalone MC service.
Approvals
Identify who can approve music changes, overtime and production decisions on the day.
Confirm the technical plan
Venue equipment
Ask what PA, mixer, DJ inputs, monitors, microphones and lighting are installed.
Room and audience areas
A ballroom, rooftop, foyer, fan zone and outdoor site require different coverage.
Access
Confirm loading, parking, lifts, stairs, security, induction and setup time.
Power and weather
Outdoor events need safe power, shelter and a weather plan.
Cueing
Provide final walk-up tracks, stings and cue contacts in a clear, version-controlled run sheet.
Production responsibility
In South East Queensland, full production can be handled through Osmic Productions; elsewhere we confirm what accompanies the DJ booking.
